One advantage of living in a developed country is that when it comes to Internet infrastructure, it is widely available, fast, and often reliable. However, there are some countries in the world where fast and stable internet is rare, but the good news is that Google is here to help us.
In the recent update of Google Chrome on the Android platform, Google has added a new feature that will automatically download articles to watch when you're not connected to the Internet. Google has in the past provided features to use Google Chrome when it is not connected to the Internet, but this takes it to the next level with automatic uploads.
How does this feature work? Well, when Google Chrome detects that your phone is connected to an undefined WiFi network, it will automatically start uploading articles that are believed to be common in your area, as well as related to you. "When you're connected to an unrestricted free Wi-Fi network, Google Chrome will automatically upload relevant articles based on the most popular content in your area," said Amanda Boss, product manager for the Google Chrome team.
This is part of the next billion Google Next Billion Users initiative, and the new Google Chrome update has begun to appear in countries like India, Brazil, Indonesia and other countries.
